Background
National Truck Protection was started in 1983 in response to a need for a used truck
protection that gave the buyer real protection without a costly engine overhaul. Until early
1996, all requests for inspections were filled from our corporate headquarters in New Jersey.
To enhance our ability to provide faster and more efficient service to used truck dealer
customers we have partnered with OEM engine distributors, OEM authorized service facilities
and larger truck dealerships. Once trained, they can provide a protection plan inspection
that follows consistent guidelines and procedures regardless of the inspection location.
These partnerships are making "drive-in" used truck protection plan inspections a reality
for truck dealers.
National Truck Protection currently has partnership programs with over 114 engine distributors,
OEM authorized service facilities and truck dealerships in the United States and Canada. They
are trained in our inspection procedures and have purchased the necessary tooling to provide
inspection services to truck dealers in their trade areas. We are currently expanding our
distribution network through this same business relationship concept to provide more drive-in
inspections locations.
